sf // moad (2)

It's a Sunday afternoon, which means it's the perfect time for a museum outing! We gather a small group of housemates - Nathan, Daye, Dylan and myself - and take the bus to the MoAD, which I had previously visited back in September. Today, there are two new exhibits on display.

The first, Where is Here, brings together works by artists of African origin living all around the world. I particularly enjoy Thierry Fontaine's photographs, LaVaughn Belle's paintings, Christopher Cozier's installation (pictured above) and Allan deSouza's peaceful videos.

On the lower floor are displayed paintings depicting members of the UmuEze Amara family. Their style is rather unique - the paint strokes remind me of those found in pointilliste pieces, and the colors are very bright and cheerful.
